Who We Are:
We are a group of leaders (Executive Directors, CEOs, etc.) of grassroots, community-oriented organizations that are focused on reducing the carbon footprint within our respective communities.
The Green Impact Project is an initiative organized by Green Community Catalysts (formerly Path to a Green Home) to bring together these leaders in order to share experiences, learn new ideas, and to collaborate on larger, regional projects. Organizations at any level are welcome – whether well established or yet to be formed/incorporated.
Current Members:
Dean Berg, Executive Director, Green Beverly, Beverly, MA
Judy Lehrer Jacobs, Executive Director, Green Newton, Newton, MA
Heather Ryan, Project Coordinator & David Smith, Project Manager, Hamilton Wenham Climate Action Team, Hamilton and Wenham, MA
Eloit Evan Smith & Carmen Osuna, Founding Members, Lynn Environmental Volunteers , Lynn, MA
Eric Magers, Founder & Executive Director, Seaside Sustainability, Gloucester, MA
Jonathan Chaffee, President, Sustainable Lebanon, Lebanon, NH
Elaine Leahy, Executive Director, Sustainable Marblehead, Marblehead, MA
Paul Lauenstein, Sustainable Sharon Coalition, Sharon, MA
Why We Formed:
After numerous conversations with organizations in New England, the broader US, and abroad, Dean Berg started this leaders forum as a vehicle to share the great work that is being done. There is a need for idea sharing… it doesn’t make sense to reinvent the wheel… we need to aid/facilitate broader, regional changes to address climate change. Each community is different; there’s no ‘one size fits all’ approach so this sharing format helps everyone choose ideas that work best in their community. .
